Drinkware
When choosing a water bottle, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, consider the material the bottle is made from. Some materials, like plastic, can leach chemicals into the water, so it’s important to choose a water bottle that is made from safe materials. Second, think about how you will be using the bottle. If you’ll be carrying it with you on long hikes or bike rides, you’ll want a light-weight bottle that won’t add too much weight to your backpack. Finally, consider the price. Water bottles can range in price from a few dollars to several hundred dollars, so it’s important to find one that fits your budget. Ultimately, the best water bottle is the one that best meets your needs.
Material: Some water bottles on this list are insulated stainless steel, which keeps your water very cold for long periods of time. But others are plastic, glass, or non-insulated steel, as several of the people I spoke with prefer room-temperature water (or at least don’t mind when the liquid doesn’t stay cold all day).
We’re looking for water bottles that are:
- Leak proof
- Durable
- Easy to clean
- BPA free
The water bottle should also be made of a safe material that won’t leach chemicals into your water. We prefer water bottles made of stainless steel, glass, or food grade plastic.
Some water bottles come with filters that purify your water as you drink it. These can be great if you’re traveling or hiking in an area where the water quality is questionable. However, they add another layer of complexity and maintenance to your water bottle, so we recommend only getting a filtered water bottle if you think you’ll need it.
